Harper's Part II of Happyland arrived in my mailbox today. My parents are visiting, otherwise I'd probably have it finished by now. Tomorrow, for sure.
Coincidentally, this Happyland backstory comment arrived on my Part I entry today. Nosing around the sites a bit...there is some really interesting reading about pop culture, the state of western New York State small town economies, and the chutes and ladders of satire in contemporary American literature.
A story by the bane of my Google search existence (well, right after "Lazy Town AIM icons" and "Oobi theme song") is also in this month's Harper's. I'm sure I'll get around to reading that as well. The biographical note has no mention of academia whatsoever, in case you're curious.
