Jessie's story of quitting and starting again has me noticing a pattern amongst writers. Conclusion: There can be something immensely liberating to walking away from everything you associate with writing...and then, eventually, returning to the act itself on new terms.
Worth mentioning in context: I know of a tiny online literary magazine that had more unique visitors last month than the print run size of some fairly well-regarded paper literary magazines.
This tale of NaNoWriMo makes me sad in its shark-jumpiness. I'll have a post up soon about how I intend to observe this coming November.
