Although I buy nearly all of the books I discuss on this blog, please assume I receive them gratis.

You should also be aware that while I sometimes give away books after I discuss them on Rarely Likable, I do not ALWAYS do so. Although I am occasionally tempted, I never destroy them.

If you have questions about this statement, or about a particular book (either before or after the 12/1/09 guidelines take effect), please feel free to contact me for details.

And yes, I think the Internet-only FTC guidelines are hypocritical.

Hi, I'm Erin Fitzgerald. I'm also gnomeloaf. You can call me either, since this is the Internet. I live in Connecticut with my husband and my eight year old daughter, but I'm originally from Rochester, NY.

I write flash fiction, short stories, novellas, novels, and the VERY occasional poem. I got my MFA in fiction from Sarah Lawrence College in 1995. Since then, I've mostly received paychecks from writing in the fields of education and corporate relocation. (They're more similar than you might think!) I am editor of The Northville Review.
